Position Summary: 

Responsible and accountable for defining and implementing Airbus' Business Acquisition Strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the objective to maximise the profitability level of the deals, while achieving market share at the targeted level or above and maximising customers satisfaction.

Successfully lead, manage, motivate, develop and control a diverse and entrepreneurial sales team to achieve and surpass the annual objectives whilst complying with all applicable government regulations, procedures and all related Airbus policies and business controls.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. 40% Lead and manage a team in charge of
  1. 40% Defines and implements the business acquisition strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean region in line with the Airbus corporate objectives
  • Set clear objectives for the team members consistent with the Airbus objectives
  • Monitor at all times developments and the evolution of all sales campaigns and processes from the marketing, sales negotiation, contract follow up, aircraft definition, aircraft delivery process to in service experience
  • Judge the appropriate moment and level at which to become involved in sales campaigns or to assist the sales team in the field
  1. 20% Manage the Sales department.
  • Ensure the high performing sales team has all the necessary support to achieve their objectives
  • Ensure morale, engagement and motivation remains consistently high through appropriate performance management, coaching, development and timely feedback

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 


  • Four-year college degree with post graduate on aviation-related studies
  • A mix of technical and business degrees is preferred


  • Minimum fifteen years of commercial aviation experience with particular emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Experience in managing and leading diverse and remote commercial teams

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Good technical knowledge of aircraft, probably gained through education and/or experience and interest
  • Sound understanding of commerce, economics and finance
  • Excellent practice of English and Spanish and good knowledge of Portuguese
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to include the ability to conduct formal presentations to internal and external customers
  • Professional skills: Able to negotiate and persevere in adverse circumstances Knowledge of Latin America and the Caribbean and prior experience in the region Team-player and able to lead the team and to coordinate cross-functionally Broad culture, facilitating adaptation
  • Behavioral skills: Strong interpersonal skills Good knowledge of Latin culture and ability to work in a Latin environment Good listener, able to understand his interlocutors' perception Pro-active and creative.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Good command of Spanish and/or Portuguese 

Travel Required:

  • 50% Domestic and International  

Nature of Contacts:

Involved, negotation type communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties
