Supply Operation Manager (SOM)

Note: This position will be located in one of two places:  either Dallas or Los Angeles.  Please disregard the home office zip code of Herndon, VA, as this position will not be located in Herndon.

Position Summary:  This position is responsible for various program suppliers and is accountable for ensuring on time delivery and on quality of cabin equipment to Airbus (Monuments, Floor to Floor, IFE, seats, etc. work packages).

 Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • The job holder shall ensure maturity and robustness of Cabin Supplier's manufacturing and supply chain processes to avoid supply failures
  • The job holder shall ensure supplier capacity and capability to secure ramp-up period as well as Airbus industrial objectives (major planning changes, ramp down, etc.)
  • The job holder will ensure adequate monitoring and analysis of performances through Key Performance Indicators and organizing the surveillance of the suppliers through audits, assessments, recovery plan and mission, CID (Corrective, Improvement, Development) and industrial risks management with internal and external concerned parties
  • The job holder will initiate and organize supplier's ramp-up capacity and capabilities assessments in order to secure ramp-up or major planning changes
  • The job holder will ensure appropriate monitoring of major industrial risks, major changes (industrial transfers, major planning changes) and supporting design changes on an industrial point of view in order to protect Airbus operations
  • The job holder will Initiate and follow recovery plans with Suppliers in case of delivery performances degradation to ensure deliveries are back to Airbus requirements
  • The job holder will ensure Suppliers' preventive/corrective action plans are managed and achievements are at the expected level in terms of end results.
  • The job holder will prepare and support regular management reviews (PRM, Industrial Senior Management Meeting, Quality Supply Chain Meetings) with suppliers to review regularly delivery and supply chain performances and ensuring that preventive/corrective & improvement actions are continuously undertaken.
  • The job holder will manage relationship with internal stakeholders, such as MFT leaders, Programs and FALs (communication, customer / supplier relation & meetings, improvement actions).

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 

Education:

  • A degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering or similar

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in a procurement operations environment (monitoring and auditing suppliers)

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Preferred Green Belt/Black Belt certification
  • Preferred CPIM certification (Certified in Production & Inventory Management)

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Competences in IPCA+ and CCP tools
  • Basic knowledge of Supply Chain

Communication Skills

  • Communicating at all levels within the supplier's organization and Airbus to influence the decision making
  • Ability to summarize complex industrial situations in a clear manner
  • Team Player with excellent communication skills, customer-oriented, problem solving and flexible way of working.
