Manage the Accounting General Ledger system for AA/AGHQ entities, including responsibility for process and system oversight as well as applicable master data control and support staff (GL and FAL inventory). Prepare financial statements for all entities (consolidated B/S, P & L, cash flow statements) and perform related analysis (Fixed Assets, Prepaid, Accruals, Account reconciliations) in conformity with IFRS and GAAP requirements.  Manage and report financial results to Airbus using the Facts + Reporting tools.

  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of General Ledger accounts, structure and cost elements.
  • Ensure monthly financial closings are in line with Airbus expectations (on time and on quality); coordinate    GL resources to work according to plan (timetable, deliverables).
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal/external customers (Controlling, Treasury, Auditors and others).
  • Support the Accounting Manager and staff; controlling and tax departments on regular and adhoc requests (Annual audit, transfer pricing study, tax PBC, valuation studies).
  • Ensure proper accounting and reporting of fixed assets and depreciation accounts (IFRS & GAAP) with a special emphasis on production sites (Jigs & Tools, buildings, etc.)
  • Responsible for contractual benefit adjustments, LTIP adjustments, accruals for rebills and support for monthly intercompany invoicing and settlement (including sales of Aircraft reconciliation process).
  • Perform research on appropriate accounting guidance for technical questions.
  • Provide guidance on daily operations and process improvements on a continuous basis.
  • Provide backup for various accounting/finance functions.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of multi-module SAP system experience is preferred.

Experience:

  • 10 or more years of experience with a complex multi-national accounting environment managing the financial closing cycle, preparing and reporting consolidated financial statements.
  • IFRS/GAAP proficient.
  • Demonstrably effective organizational and inter-personal skills.
  • Demonstrably effective in engaging with employees and maintaining an open-door policy.

  • Prefer candidates with personal organization, sensitive toward consistently meeting changing and challenging deadlines, a creative problem-solver, in-tune with senior management's work product expectations, nimble, open to change, not afraid to challenge status quo.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Demonstrably effective communication and presentation skills.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Internal and commercial systems proficiency required for the position. Ex: Microsoft Office Suite, CostPoint, Project Management Systems
