The IM Products Portfolio Manager for Support Functions in Airbus North America (USA, Canada and Mexico) is responsible for managing the technical and digital products for all Airbus North America support functions: HR, Finance, Procurement, Communication, Legal and Government.

S/he will be responsible to shape & design, to implement, to manage & to deploy the products portfolio of the Support Functions and manage product development directly. S/he will combine robust project management experience but also an innate drive to improve existing systems and processes and possess and innovative mind-set to develop novel solutions for evolving challenges.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Development: 45%

  • s/he will have to manage the product development end-to-end directly and be accountable and responsible for the product delivered
  • Leads products planning, management and implementation of services for all Airbus North America Group entities.
  • Ensure that Conditions of Success (means, skills, process ...) will be ready for Business Product to be designed, delivered and run through incremental MVPs and provide Value expected by stakeholders.
  • Responsible for all guaranteeing the proper level of service according to agreed SLA established with the business functions
  • Accountable for providing an end-to-end service towards the customers (including the infrastructure components)
  • Ensure reporting about project activities and roadmaps
  • Lead Functional and Technical Guidance to accompany Product owners & managers to ensure fast Product deliveries applying Agile and DevOps principles when deemed appropriate

 Products and Portfolio Management: 30%

  • Animate a project manager's network, mainly external subcontractors and drumbeat the activities
  • Define and structure a consistent portfolio of activities, projects and POCs.
  • Ensure reporting about project activities and roadmaps
  • Ensure the link between projects and transversal streams (Architecture, Data Governance,...), and manage escalations towards program management and suppliers
  • Provide all the necessary support (processes, way of working, financial management or logistics) to help projects to deliver the maximum value within the defined planning.
  • Contribute to improve delivery efficiency and cost reduction
  • Actively contribute to suppliers management
  • Ensure portfolio is managed in consistencies with European based portfolio from a technology and value proposition points of view
  • Liaise with the business functions back in Europe to contribute to the design/development of applications and prepare the deployment and support of the applications
  • Liaise and synchronize with the IM infrastructure team to ensure smooth deployment and appropriate level of performance of the end to end services
  • Works with IM Governance to identify and capture (operational and project) license cost elements in the IM budget. Manages related budget performance Collaborates with global divisional and group counterparts to understand and align requirements for support functions applications where possible.

Innovation and Digital Transformation: 15%

  • Enable top-down or bottom-up communication, and all-ways exchanges between project stakeholders about way of working and best practises in order to get the maximum business value.
  • Favor and use as much as possible methodologies an ways or working defined by IM Digital transformation team

 People: 10%

  • Infuse new ways of working and digital culture amongst her/his peers in IM
  • Coach, educate, convince and support Products stakeholders to deploy through agile methodologies when appropriate

 

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Product Development Management and Project Management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Digital Technologies, culture and transformation
  • Experienced with waterfall, agile and other project management methodologies
  • Understanding of Airbus IM standards, project and services methodologies and procedures is a plus 

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge in the areas of HR, Finance, Procurement, Communication and Legal processes and technologies
  • Knowledge in IT and Digital Technologies and potential usage / benefits of these technologies for the business

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, Spanish, German or French language skills are a plus

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • SAP HCM, SAP SRM, SAP FI/CO, SAP BPC, SAP HANA, ADP, Workday, Cornerstone, SharePoint, Hadoop, BI / Analytics, JIRA, Slack, J2EE, AWS, ...  

 Travel Required: 20% both Domestic & International.

  • This position reports to the Head of IM Support function Airbus North America

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

  • Up to 50 major applications to deploy, maintain and support for a population of more than 2500 employees across Airbus in North America: Airbus Americas, Inc., Airbus Helicopters, Inc., Airbus Defence & Space Inc. in various sites: Grand Prairie, Columbus, Herndon, Ashburn, Miami, Mobile, Wichita, Mexico City, Queretaro and Fort Erie. At any given time, will be managing 15-20 application projects simultaneously. Projects range from $20k - $500k each. Manage $2-2.5m in project activities per year.
  • This position has budget management for all of North America ICT applications activities related to the support functions
