Position Summary:

The Infrastructure Architect for the ICT Airbus North America is responsible for designing and implementing the infrastructure that will support and integrate the Airbus information systems across Airbus North America but also with Europe.

Following Airbus corporate ICT standards, this position analyzes information systems requirements, integration points in the infrastructure, adherence with Network and Cyber Security requirements, designs and develops the overall infrastructure architecture and ensures that systems are aligned with current or future services delivery needs.

This position ensures that all systems are working at optimal levels (performance) and offers support to all divisions of North America regarding new technologies and system requirements.

This position has been approved for Airbus Mobility.

Primary Responsibilities:

Planning and Design: 50%

  • Works with the Head of ICT Infrastructure and Operations to develop and execute the Infrastructure Architecture Strategy
  • Works with the Enterprise Architect to develop the ICT Master Plan
  • Provides annual updates and inputs to the ICT Master Plan
  • Provides input to the annual budget, contribute to the development of service description and service levels based on system architectures, and manages global relationships and other necessary resources to maintain adherence to Airbus standards.
  • Produces Architecture Requirements Dossiers (ARD) to support infrastructure projects.
  • Contributes to the development of Architecture Requirements Dossiers (ARD) for business application projects.
  • Develops operational processes and procedures to support Architectures Entry into Services (EIS)
  • Actively participates in the development (and evolution) of the systems and ensures compliance with Airbus ICT Standards in collaboration with the Enterprise Architect

Project Support: 30%

  • Partners with business applications teams and operational counterparts to coordinate the delivery of projects including local, group and divisional initiatives.
  • Provides inputs to the projects planning, budget and management activities necessary for implementation and integration of the IS and IT solutions
  • Identifies opportunities for innovation, obsolescence management, cost savings, and/or service quality improvement.

Service Operations: 15%

  • Ensures the performance of the solutions and maintains optimal operating performance once integrated into the infrastructure.
  • Collaborates with local and central Service Delivery Managers and resources to support entry into service and operational hand-offs are completed.
  • Provides resource capacity planning for Service Integration and Documentation elements of the project to ensure proper maintenance of operational documentation and procedures
  • Provides capacity planning estimates to support operational tasks when applicable and evaluates service delivery contracts and service level agreements to ensure supplier alignment.

Additional Responsibilities:  

  • Other duties as assigned: 5%
  • After hours integration support when applicable

 

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

 

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Masters degree in Information Technology preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of that 5+ year in an infrastructure architecture role in areas like which included all of the following; Cloud, Hosting, Storage, Network, VMware, Middleware Tools and Class 1 and Class 2 Application platforms.

 Licensure/Certifications:

  • Certified IT Architect from a reputable and industry leading organization required 

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Minimum of 6+ years experiences in managing and/or administering infrastructure technologies such as Cloud Services (Intermediation, Aggregation), VMWare (VCloud, VSphere, Fusion), Cisco (Nexus, FirePower) and Microsoft (Active Directory, Office 365, Azure) products.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Expert written and verbal skills in English, secondary in French language is beneficial 

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Minimum of 4 years of System Engineering experience with a total of at least 6 years IT work experience.
  • 3+ years with VMware Administration (including VSphere 6.x and VCenter 5.x or higher).

Travel Required:

  • 10% Domestic and International
