Senior Benefit Analyst

Position Summary:

The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for managing and administering the Airbus Americas, Inc. Benefits Program, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, life and disability plans and the qualified and non-qualified retirement plans. This position works with employees on benefits needs and manages vendors for all plans. This position also provides internal US knowledge for US retirement and health and welfare benefit plan compliance, including establishing operational standards for plan governance, fiduciary standards, plan administration, recordkeeping, communications, plan documentation, vendor evaluation, , and audit of benefit plans and programs.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  1. Plan Administration, Operations and Communication: 60%
  2. Legislative Compliance: 20%
  3. Plan Governance Advisory: 10%
  4. Other: 20%

Administration of vendor relationships, monitor and complete contract updates through legal review to timely signature by authorized Airbus Americas, Inc. signor.

Administer purchase orders and recurring invoice submission for payments related to the employee benefit plans and associated service vendors

Benefit benchmarking as needed

Support Merger and Acquisition and Divestiture activities

Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements


Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business, a related field, or equivalent education and experience.


8+ years of progressive Hr. experience. 2+ years focusing on benefit plan compliance focused on benefit plan compliance, to include qualified (defined benefit and defined contribution) and nonqualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans for the US.

Knowledge and practical hands-on experience designing, establishing and maintaining fully compliant retirement plans and health and welfare plans within large complex organizations with multiple entities, corporate/subsidiary operations, and complex controlled group structure.

Demonstrated experience effectively correcting compliance and plan operations/administrative processes is essential.

Demonstrated experience handling organizational change, managing employee benefits, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions as related to employee benefit plans, integration design and implementation.

Thorough knowledge of US employment and benefit laws and regulations and compliance standards and initiatives under the EEOC, IRS, DOL and OSHA.

Effective result-oriented problem solving skills to include exceptional negotiation and facilitation skills, experienced in resolving conflicts between different parties to a dispute and reconciling conflicting requirements.

Engaged, collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and consultative skills. Ability to build relationships and gain respect at all levels of the organization, handling complex situations professionally with diplomacy. Ability to handle confidential information with extreme discretion.

Effective multitasking, ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required

Superior communication skills (written/oral/ presentation), able to present clear and concise briefings and reports at all levels of an organization, both individually, within a team setting or large group.

Proficient in HRIS, web applications, with advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.

Decision Making, Complexity:

Influence business decisions that encompass benefit plan compliance considerations

Devise and gain buy-in and support for employee benefit plan compliance actions and processes

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

Health and Welfare plan budget is estimated $20M

Qualified Retirement Plan Assets estimated at $180M

Non-Qualified Retirement Plan Assets estimated at $45M ($15M DCP, $30M SERP)
