Position Summary

Exciting opportunity to work at a leading company in the Aerospace industry! The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for administering the Airbus Americas, Inc. Health and Welfare Programs and Retirement Plans. This position provides compliance, analytical, and strategic knowledge while engaging with employees on benefits and managing vendors.


Primary Position Responsibilities:

1. Plan Administration, Operations and Communication: 60%

  • Administer the company health and welfare benefits and retirement plans. Serve as subject matter expert on plan operations, facilitate effective and accurate benefits delivery in accordance with plan contracts and provisions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and present New Hire Orientation.
  • Maintain benefits enrollment and participant systems. Audit and analyze system reporting to ensure data accuracy.
  • Document and communicate operational procedures for employee benefit plan administration.
  • Guide the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the compliance of employee benefits plans.
  • Monitor, track, document and ensure vendor/carrier/record-keeper/advisor services and contractual requirements accurately align to the terms of the benefit plans and that these benefits are consistently delivered to plan participants.
  • Review benefit plan communications timely and ensure adherence with the terms and provisions of the plans offered. Develop and perform distribution methods for employee benefit plan communication and required plan documents.
  • Review and finalize annual benefits open enrollment materials and conduct meetings for employees.
  • Prepare data in compliance with regulatory requirements (5500's, non-discrimination testing, PCORI, 1094-C/1095-C)

2. Legislative Compliance: 20%

  • Leads regulatory and compliance updates. Develop and implement a compliance process workflow and communication procedure to track and monitor required regulatory compliance changes and to ensure plans are amended, revised and updated or restated timely to meet legislative mandates, new compliance regulations, or to reflect organization changes and restructuring. Informs and educates US entity HR and Benefits leaders on compliance actions. Serves as project leader for benefit plan compliance correction processes and coordinates the response and interaction with external government and accounting audits.

3. Plan Governance Advisory: 10%

  • Partner with Head of Benefits to manage/guide/direct/change/corrective action based on results of evaluation of the administration and operation of the health and welfare and retirement plans.

4. Other: 20%

  • Administration of vendor relationships, monitor and complete contract updates through legal review to timely signature by authorized Airbus Americas, Inc. signer.
  • Benefit benchmarking as needed
  • Support Merger and Acquisition and Divestiture activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business, a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

Experience:

  • 5 - 8+ years of progressive and senior level employee benefit plan design, evaluation and compliance experience, with 3-5 years as a lead subject matter expert focused on benefit plan compliances.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively correcting compliance and plan operations/administrative processes is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience handling organizational change, managing employee benefits, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions as related to employee benefit plans, integration design and implementation.
  • Thorough knowledge of US employment and benefit laws and regulations and compliance standards and initiatives under the EEOC, IRS, DOL and OSHA.
  • Effective result-oriented problem solving skills to include exceptional negotiation and facilitation skills, experienced in resolving conflicts between different parties to a dispute and reconciling conflicting requirements.
  • Engaged, collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and consultative skills. Ability to build relationships and gain respect at all levels of the organization, handling complex situations professionally with diplomacy. Ability to handle confidential information with extreme discretion.
  • Effective multitasking, ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required
  • Superior communication skills (written/oral/ presentation), able to present clear and concise briefings and reports at all levels of an organization, both individually, within a team setting or large group.
  • Proficient in HRIS, web applications, with advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • Influence business decisions that encompass benefit plan compliance considerations
  • Devise and gain buy-in and support for employee benefit plan compliance actions and processes

Health and Welfare plan budget is estimated $20M

Qualified Retirement Plan Assets estimated at $180M

Non-Qualified Retirement Plan Assets estimated at $45M ($15M DCP, $30M SERP)

Involved negotiation and influencing type communication on a regular basis with internal and external parties.
