Position Title: Quality Inspector

Position Summary:
In accordance with the requirements of EASA Part21G the inspector will perform quality and airworthiness inspections as certifying staff for the Airbus Americas Spares Center and represent the Quality Management Department during internal meetings, working committees and modification programs, especially concerning airworthiness and regulatory matters.

• Perform inspection procedures and issue EASA1 Forms for all outgoing NEW material. Validate dispatch documentation (FAA 8130-3's and EASA145 's ) for Serviceable (USED) material. Accept the responsibility for a rotating 24-hour "On-Call" shift schedule. Dispatch inspections are based upon the requirements of EASA scope of authorizations for a production organization approval. Visual inspections are for identification, quantity, damage, corrosion and respect to life limited time controls. Delivery documentation (inspection reports) and compliance with applicable design data is verified.
• Perform inspections of aircraft Tooling and GSE. Use of tooling drawings is required. Certificates of Conformance are issued at dispatch.
• Make decisions for the disposition of material and parts based upon agreed criteria. Assist others with technical evaluations and regulatory interpretations. Utilization of CMM, SRM, IPC, SB, standard manuals and engineering drawings as required.
• Issue Discrepancy Reports and Unserviceable Tags for non-conforming material. Monitor and follow up of periodic check requirements for all Spares material (new and used). Participate in the resolution of customer complaints concerning Proprietary Parts and Supplier quality problems. Interface with Airbus Material Logistics and Suppliers (Airbus Hamburg) reporting, investigating and resolving material non-conformances and quality issues. Perform inspections at customer facilities and satellite locations. Initiate corrective actions for discrepant or non-conforming inventory located at these off-site facilities. Produce statistical reports used to measure the effectiveness of Quality Management processes.
• The business operating system is SAP. Interface with the SAP Key User regarding SAP functions and systems support for Quality operations.
• Quality inspectors personally incur legal and liability issues for the company when creating and signing various airworthiness certificates and documents.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
5-7 years of maintenance experience and knowledge of aircraft operations, systems and practices.
• Familiarization with aerospace quality control and quality assurance systems (EN/AS9100).
• Pass a mandatory pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program Test.
• Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Education / Special Qualifications:
• FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License or previous Military Maintenance Certification required.
• Two years of college or technical school in the following discipline: Aircraft Maintenance Technologies

Unique Position Details:
Quality inspectors shall participate in a mandatory Anti Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program (reoccurring tests).
Hold or be able to obtain a valid passport.
