Position Summary:   

The auditor will operate in a dynamic Forensic & Compliance team within Airbus in North America. Corporate Audit & Forensic team is involved in the review of major business topics for Airbus. The auditor will be working with senior and executive management on audits that are complex and often where there isn't a single clear answer. The auditor will be required to apply business experience, judgment and persistence to provide added value for the business and objectivity for Airbus. The purview of the auditor covers corporate functions, all Airbus divisions, subsidiaries and related companies as well as our suppliers and partners in US, Canada and LATAM. The auditor will report administratively to the Chief of Staff to Chairman & CEO as proximity manager and to Corporate Audit as home function.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Defining and carrying out audit objectives in agreement with the Corporate Audit leadership team.
  • Delivering structured, objective assessments of complex and often conflicting evidence that will guide senior management's actions and, in some instances, potentially be the basis for further legal action.
  • Identification of key business risks and challenging senior management through the application of in-depth knowledge and experience of the practical issues facing the business.
  • Coaching and training of less knowledgeable auditors.
  • Providing professional support to senior management on the resolution of business problems by identifying recommendations that are practical and in compliance with Airbus standards.
  • Contributing to the delivery of individual audit tasks against professional standards.
  • Challenging the business on the way things are done and identifying best practices.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of risk management in the areas being reviewed.
  • Assessing findings and developing practical and compliant recommendations.
  • Assisting in feedback meetings with senior management to discuss findings, develop recommendations and achieve acceptance for implementation.
  • Tracking implementation and completion of adequate corrective actions.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis on Finance and Accounting.
  • MBA or MS in Accounting or Finance.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience with Statutory Audit Firms in a variety of demanding audit missions for Industrial and Manufacturing organizations.
  • Anti-corruption and anti-fraud experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with industrial and manufacturing organizations is a plus.
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Information Technology is a plus.
  • Prior experience with international organizations and entities is a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Confident knowledge of IFRS (IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16) and statutory accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of analytical reviews on Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Knowledge of internal factors driving assets, stocks, receivables, payables, etc.
  • Understanding cost unit accounting: stock valuation and depreciation, hourly rate calculation.
  • Strong interpersonal spoken and written communication skills.
  • Significant personal initiative and tenacity both when working alone or as a member of a team
  • Ability to conduct interviews effectively and in full compliance with local laws and company policy.
  • Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from company's leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively manage own time.
  • Ability to operate in a global multicultural environment.

 

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • French, German, or Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency in a third language is a plus.

Travel:

  • 40% Domestic and International.

Involved communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties.

 

Physical Requirements:

Candidate should be comfortable working for extended periods of time using computers and be able to travel independently.
